Anyway, let's talk about the Voxbox I recieved!
OVERVIEW:
Influenster and Milk Makeup paired up to send out a select number of these boxes and I was one of the lucky chosen recipients! The box came packaged wonderfully inside a poly-mailer bag. Here's a look at what I was greeted with.
Absolutely stunning! I'm already loving the packaging of the products.
So inside, I was sent two bottles of the new Blur Liquid Matte foundation ($40) and their Dab + Blend Silicone Blending Sponge ($14). I have to say that this is one of the most beautiful silicone sponges I've ever seen, it's full of sparkles and in a tiny holographic zip-up reusable bag! Perfect storage idea for someone that loves to touch up on the go!
Unfortunately, I'm not the biggest fan of Silicone Sponges because they don't exactly blend in any of the product. While they stay clean and keep product from absorbing into the sponge (unlike other blending sponges and foundation brushes), they don't do an amazing job by any other means. The plus of them is seeing the true value of your foundation and not pumping three to four times and wasting product. I personally don't love how streaky they leave the foundation though. As I already said, they don't blend whatsoever. So this will be staying on my vanity as a cute showpiece instead of a holy grail.
FOUNDATION REVIEW:
(I received the shades Fair & Ivory, Fair wound up being my true-match for Summer.) Before I go too in-depth, there are a LOT of claims on the product. From the packaging to its performance, the foundation promises to not only blur the appearance of large pores, but also be full coverage with a water-thin wear, "a weightless, long-wearing matte finish. Silicone-Free formula won't clog pores so skin can breathe..... Minimize the appearance of pores, fine lines, and imperfections. Formula is housed in a mess-free, no drip, air-tight package." Also free of Silicone, Dimethicone, Oil, Cruelty Free, and Vegan. You'll only need 1-2 drops.(Source: Milk Makeup). That is a MOUTHFUL of claims for one product, and that's why I'm here to de-bunk any statements that may be too bold.
Let's talk about the "mess-free, no drip, air-tight package" first. I have to absolutely agree that the packaging is very mess-free for the kind of product that is in it. I did have a bit get around the tip of the applicator but I'm not going to deem that as a drawback because it really wasn't a mess. So far we're off to a great start.
Does this product minimize pores? YES! That's their biggest claim on the box, so I would have been disappointed if it didn't! Thankfully, I saw results in a matter of seconds. My exaggerated pores were no more and I felt very flawless all day. I couldn't believe just how dramatic of a difference it made! The finish dries to a beautiful matte that has a slight luminous shine to it, but it certainly is matte. It would be a wonderful product to wear on its own with very minimal to no other makeup, and it would look naturally matte instead of dramatic. It does, in fact, feel very weightless - almost as if there were no product on the face. I think it's more lightweight than Tarte's Amazonian Clay (my holy grail) and definitely more lightweight and breathable than Estee Lauder's Double Wear.
SUMMARY:
The Milk Blur Liquid Matte Foundation is certainly approved by me! I feel as though they could have made some improvements and suffered in weight so they could work on coverage. Do I think that this is a foundation worth the $40 price tag? I think that Milk kind of exaggerated the price a bit, and I personally would have marked this down to about $37. The foundation is wonderful, but I can't justify buying it when this bottle is out for how much it costs. I think that with how little product you use, your dollar value will go far, but it will leave you wanting just a tiny bit more. For that, I have to give it four stars instead of five, but it's definitely earned its place in my rotation!
I definitely appreciated being one of the lucky people who got to try the Blur Liquid Matte Foundation completely free thanks to Influenster!
