DRUGSTORE FAUX MINK LASHES??? - Mini-Haul & Reviews

How many of you are lash ADDICTS? I just discovered the world of false lashes not too long ago, when I realized my looks needed a little more "extra-ness" (because adding glitter and calling it a day was just not enough for me). As I was falling deeper and deeper into a lash-hole that I honestly couldn't seem to get out of, I noticed one thing - to get those luxurious Instagram-Quality lashes, you'll likely have to spend upwards of $25-$30 per pair. Obviously still as a beginner with lashes, it's just not in my budget to spend all of that on something I'll likely be destroying and tossing.

I think the most I've ever spent on lashes is $15 on my House of Lashes x Sephora Collection Cécile pair, and let me just say - they are my holy grails. The style is complimenting to every look that I create, and because I've been using them with almost every look (seriously, you can check my Instagram @Lys_Glitz and see just how much I love these lashes), they're about done for. However, while I was at Wal-Mart (yes, Wal-Mart) last night, I noticed that Kiss came out with luxurious faux mink lashes called Lash Couture. The best part? They're $6.

REVIEW:

This is obviously up my alley - a cheap pair of Faux Minks to give me the feel of IG quality lashes for less than half of the price. I noticed that they have so many variations of styles, from sweet naturals to full glam flutters, I was in lash heaven. After a good fifteen minutes of consideration, I finally decided to walk out with the style Gala, and a white eyeliner pencil from Hard Candy (we'll get in to that later).

The second I got home, I had to take a look at these lashes. They were absolutely stunning in the package, but I wanted to know more. I found out that they're extremely soft, Contact Lens Friendly (which is really important to me because I wear contacts), claim to be weightless, and have a knot-free technology in their lash bands. Now if these don't sound appealing, how does added dimension with stacked layers and curls sound? Yeah, I thought so.

Now that we're all sold on these beauties, let me go in depth about the application. They're easy to grip with tweezers, the band is virtually effortless to manipulate to your eye shape, and let me just say, they look incredible with full glam. Don't believe me? Check out my most recent look with them!

So overall? I absolutely love these lashes, I  honestly can't get enough!  They're definitely lightweight, but not "weightless" as they claim. I can still tell that I've got lashes on, and it's not always a pleasant feeling, but I'm very pleased with how well they behave with my contacts in. I usually do have issues, but I'm seeing far less complications with these.

MINI-REVIEW:

I also picked up this beautiful Hard Candy eyeliner pencil called Stroke of Gorgeous. There are so many colors in this line and they all cost $5. I chose the white shade called Ice Queen, which also claims to be a shimmer shade, soft gliding, and long wearing.

I truly did not want to spend a whole blog post writing about an eyeliner that would take two seconds to explain, because this product is very basic. I absolutely adore this triply-holo packaging, you get .04oz which is a decent amount for the price, and it's a white eyeliner. What more can you say?

But in all fairness, I think that the product is nice, when I switched it, the pigment was rich, it didn't exactly glide like it implies (in fact it pulls and tugs quite a bit), and it definitely has a staying power (and very little play-time, it doesn't smudge). Is it a Marc Jacobs liner? Of course not, but I'd call it a contender.

Finally, let's talk about the shimmer - it's a very subdued shimmer to say the least. It has the same effect as highlighter - the "glow" and more radiant kind of shimmer. I think in the waterline this is definitely not the case, it's much more like a basic white eyeliner when applied, so there's no special sparkles or any sort of unicorn magic that's going to come out of it. Hopefully you can live with its simplicity.

TURN 1 ITEM AT SEPHORA INTO A HAUL! - Tips & Secrets to Get the Most Value for Your $$$

If you're regularly reading my blog, you probably are just as addicted to Sephora as I am and know exactly what to do to get the most value out of your purchases. However, there's still so many people who are new to Sephora that maybe don't know all of the ins and outs of purchasing products and getting the crazy number of freebies and fun sized goodies and want to get in on the secrets of Sephora. This post will be geared towards those who have just started purchasing high end products at Sephora, those who still don't know everything there is to know, or anyone who needs a refresher on all the great deals that you can get involved on during your Sephora trips. It's a given that I'll be stepping in to the mall to find the newest, craziest, most raved about, and innovative makeup on the high-end market at least once a week. This can obviously rack up quite a bill, but with the right know-how, you can make your dollar go much farther than you'd expect.

LIFEPROOF LIPSTICK??? - LipSense Review & MEET JODIE

Sometimes, I wake up to some pretty crazy DMs and e-mails from distributors in the Multi-Level-Marketing business. "You look BEAUTIFUL - buy my product!" "Be a tester for this really crazy trial that we don't mention you get charged for later!" The list goes on and on.. I've heard every speech there is and every excuse to get me to buy, but I continually said no due to the almost repetitive vibe that came off of the distributors. Bottom line, they were focused on making a sale and not speaking to the need of the customer. Soliciting at its finest, I suppose. As someone studying multi-million dollar business management and  seeing the unethical and unprofessional marketing ploys that these distributors held, I became appalled quickly. With the continuous scripts being sent in my direction, I decided it was time to turn away from MLM companies and closet them until another blog decided to take the bait and review the products, get sucked into the scheme

2017 WRAP UP IN MAKEUP - BEST & WORST OF THE YEAR

Before I get into this, can you believe that 2017 is over? I remember spending Valentine's day with my boyfriend and then all of a sudden - poof! The holidays are over and we're counting down from 10. I'll let you know that my holiday was amazing - I spent it cuddled up with Vlad, duh... It was the first time I spent this time away from my family, and while it was a bit scary, I got acclimated fast and enjoyed every moment. Anyway, this isn't about the holidays, this is about the makeup of the year. I wanted to give everyone a list of what I was blown away by this year and stuck with longer than I expected, and what I trashed, donated, or took back almost immediately. Without further adieu.... let's get started with the best: 1. Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette This palette was totally left field for me, because I wanted absolutely nothing to do with Jaclyn Hill or endorsing her in any way. Admittedly, I don't like the way she presents herself and never re
