MAGICAL LIPSTICK?? - Ciaté London Glitter Flip Liquid Lipstick Review & Swatches



Have you ever seen something get sent out, beauty gurus try it, rave about it, and you think it seems too good to be true? So then you have to try it and figure out for yourself if this is as life changing as they say? Yeah? Always. Same here - I'm so intrigued by product reviews and so it's no surprise that I went out and grabbed this the second I saw it in a PR unboxing.

Let me go a little more into detail... I don't think it's any secret that I'm absolutely OBSESSED with lipsticks. My collection is ever growing, and I still don't have all the shades.... it's shocking, really. You'd think I could make a rainbow out of my lipsticks - and while I can, it's never enough. I'm continually hunting down lipsticks of all sorts just to find "the one". The one that's my color, my style, the finish I like, has an amazing formula, and so on. Well, what if I told you I found a 2 in 1 lipstick??? I know, I'm sounding like an advertisement but bear with me....

OVERVIEW:


When I say "2 in 1" I mean 2 lipstick finishes in one matte liquid lip formula. Ciaté London has apparently made this happen with their new Glitter Flip Liquid Lipsticks. After the metallic liquid lipstick formula dries, you're supposed to be able to pucker your lips together and BAM - GLITTER LIQUID LIPSTICK! I'm just as amazed as a kid in a candy store to be honest.

This lipstick will run at $19 and contains .101fl oz. which is a little on the stingy side for a liquid lipstick. Compared to a few others such as Jeffree Star Cosmetics (.17fl oz), it is also extremely pricy. 
So far there are 7 Exclusive shades, ranging from dark reds to purples, an unconventional blue, and some pink-nudes. I decided to pick up Fortune, which is the purple shade because it matches my hair.

REVIEW & SWATCHES:


I don't know many lipsticks that come with an instruction manual, but this one does. It's simple: Apply one even coat, let it sit for one minute, press your lips together, and it's suddenly a magical glitter lipstick! Sounds easy enough. 

When I applied the lipstick, I noticed one thing especially - the shade was EXTREMELY opaque for a dark liquid lipstick. It's almost impossible to need another coat, so already that's a big win for me. I enjoy how lightweight the lipstick feels as well - it's almost weightless, but there's definitely a significant drying feeling that gives it some slight weight. The more you smack your lips together, the morel likely you are to feel as though it is uncomfortably dry.

After waiting one minute, I smacked my lips together as the directions said and I couldn't believe my eyes! The lipstick actually turned into a glitter lip, as if by magic! I'm not sure what sort of sorcery is in these liquid lips, but I need more of them already! These are fun, cute, and very trendy! I feel as though these lipsticks would be awesome to have on deck for party favors, excellent for the holidays, and all around an amazing product to have in a collection.

Finally, wear time. I wasn't too concerned about how long this product wears because I was more so mesmerized by the beautiful glitter that was on my lips. I did, of course, remember to wear it for an extended period of time just to see how it held up, and unfortunately it wasn't as long as I'd anticipated. I feel like the formula is too thin to be an "all day" type of lipstick, but it's definitely not something to pass on for the sake of longevity.

OVERVIEW: 


All I can say is - WOW! I'm truly impressed by Ciaté's new lipsticks! First off, they're absolutely stunning - to have a 2 in 1 finish within a single tube is kind of impressive, so I'm absolutely in love. Their color selections are fun and ideal for the partying message they're trying to convey. These lipsticks are certainly a party on the mouth. I know that long-wearing lipstick is a true concern of a long of lipstick lovers, such as myself. I do think though, that this can be overlooked for the sake of something that's just as fun to apply as it is to wear. I mean, I personally don't mind showing people the magic that is my lipstick. Having a "look what I can do" kind of mindset when you go to reapply is optimal for drawing attention to you. No matter what, I think you'll be the life of the party with these. 
Are they worth $19? I'd say yes. You get a fully opaque lipstick with a magic finish and fun colors all in one. They're suitable for so many occasions that they're absolutely worth splurging for. I think if you're a collector of lipsticks or you're a makeup enthusiast, makeup artist, or just a lover of anything sparkly, these are for you!
